on your device.

What the app uses, what it stores and what you choose to share.

Version 1.0Updated 6 November 2026

1. Who is responsible

This policy covers Romlyd for iPhone and iPad, its support service and this website. The responsible person is Mads Gullberg. Use our contact form or email support@romlyd.com for support or privacy questions.

2. Microphone and room scanning

Microphone access is requested when you start a real measurement or combined signal and measurement. Samples are processed temporarily in memory to calculate spectrum, levels, averages and waterfall. Romlyd does not save microphone recordings or upload microphone samples. Saved curves are analysis results, not playable audio. There is no speech recognition.

Optional LiDAR scanning uses Apple RoomPlan and asks for camera permission when scanning starts. Romlyd does not save or upload camera images, video or raw scan data. Only the reviewed room model is stored locally when you choose Use this room. Manual editing needs no camera access.

Measurement and scanning stop when cancelled or when the app enters the background. Revoke microphone or camera access in system Settings → Privacy & Security. This does not delete previous results. Demo and manual editing remain available without those permissions.

3. Local storage

The app stores room names, dimensions, temperature, outlines, partitions, doors, speaker and listener positions and heights, materials and treatment placement. Saved measurements contain names, dates, notes, duration, levels, frequency data and optional waterfall history, plus technical information such as the audio-input name, sample rate and analysis resolution. Guide progress and the language preference are also stored locally.

Room edits and guide progress save automatically; measurements save when you choose to save them. There is no Romlyd account or app-managed cloud sync. Each device keeps its own data.

4. Sharing you choose

CSV and report export use the system share sheet. You select the recipient or destination. Exports can include measurement names, notes, room dimensions, materials and positions. Review them before sharing. WAV export creates synthetic test signals, not microphone recordings. Temporary export files may remain until the system clears them or the app is deleted. Copies you send elsewhere are controlled by you and the chosen service.

5. Retention and deletion

Local data remains until replaced, deleted or removed with the app. Press and hold a measurement in History to delete it. Edit room data in the editor; Start a new guide round resets guide progress. If loading fails, the app may retain a local recovery copy to prevent data loss. Deleting the app removes all of its local storage, including recovery copies; offloading does not necessarily do so.

Depending on your settings, device or iCloud backups may contain app data. Romlyd has no separate access to those backups. Delete exports and backups separately. Restoring an older backup can restore older data.

6. Tracking and external links

The app has no ads, tracking SDKs or developer-operated usage analytics and does not automatically upload measurements or room data. External links, including support and privacy links, open websites with their own privacy practices. Romlyd does not include measurement data in those URLs.

7. Apple and TestFlight

Apple handles App Store purchases, system diagnostics and TestFlight. Depending on your choices and service settings, Apple may make diagnostics, beta usage and crash data, or feedback and attachments available to the developer. This is separate from local audio analysis. See Apple’s privacy policy and TestFlight privacy information.

8. Support messages

When you use the contact form, Mads Gullberg receives the name (if supplied), reply email address, topic, message, chosen language and submission time. Messages are stored in a private support inbox on OpenAI Sites with Cloudflare D1 storage. They are not published. The form does not attach files or automatically send app measurements, room data or audio.

We use these details to answer you and investigate problems, based on our legitimate interest in providing support. Messages are kept as needed to resolve and follow up your case or meet legal obligations, then deleted. You can request access, correction or deletion through the contact form. Do not send unnecessary personal information.

For spam prevention, the server uses a salted, temporary hash of your network address to count submissions in 15-minute windows. The form database does not store your raw IP address. Expired counters are removed on the next submission. Website providers may separately keep technical logs as described below.

You can also write directly to support@romlyd.com. Email messages, the sender address and any attachments are processed by the email services used to send, receive and answer the message. Mads Gullberg handles replies to the address you provide. The contact form continues to store messages in the private support inbox; it does not automatically forward them to email or send an automatic email confirmation. The developer cannot access data stored only on your device.

9. This website

The public support pages contain no custom analytics, advertising, external fonts or page-code cookies. The contact form sends the details described above. Owner sign-in for the private inbox uses platform authentication and its cookies. They are hosted with OpenAI Sites on Cloudflare infrastructure. Providers may process IP addresses, browser details, request times and requested pages for delivery, security and operations. Technical logs follow the providers’ retention practices; we do not claim a separately verified deletion period for their logs. Providers may process data outside the EEA.

See OpenAI’s EEA privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy for their processing, transfer safeguards and rights. Opening the site does not send your app measurements or room data to it.

10. Your choices and rights

You control device permissions, local deletion and export recipients. Where we hold personal data about you, applicable law may give you rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection. Contact us using the form linked above. You can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. We will update this policy and its date when processing changes and explain new collection before it starts.
